As suspected: Internet problems in Morogoro. The following is an email that came through today from Andrew.

Made it to the internet finally. The Morogoro network was down much of the week. It's been a pretty good couple of weeks. Internship teaching went well. It's done now, so the hard party of training is over. It'll just be cruise control the rest of the way. The DSM visit and the shadowing will be pretty great, and just after that is site announcements. I really can't wait to find out where I'm going, and just as importantly who will be close by. I tried to post to the blog, but there seems to be network problems again and I'm not sure if the post went through. Actually this email might not go through. How's everything at home? Did W nominate someone else yet? I heard the good news that Liddy was indicted and the extremely disturbing news that the Senate approved the ridiculously destructive and futile measure of drilling for oil in Alaska. I hope that in the almost sure retaking of the Senate by the Dems next year they can reverse the measure before too much damage is done. I wish the administration would get it through their heads that "alternative energy" does not mean looking for new oil wells.
Anyway, I'll try to send this, but the network isn't looking so good. Hopefully something I spent an hour working on will go through. Andrew
I'm enjoying your blog posts greatly. The way you described the Swahili language sounds mind boggling. I'm sure it helps to be studying, speaking, and hearing it everyday, though. I just don't know if I could handle that many W's at once.
Things are going nicely here in Columbia. Last week, we moved across town into a cute, old house with an arched front door. It's a classy place. I might be going to an island near the Florida Keys this New Year's to assist in the the live broadcast of a Dave Brubeck concert. Nothing's set in stone yet, but I'm really psyched about it.
I'm going to Asheville this weekend to see a band called The Benevento and Russo Duo, whom I think you'd dig. They're just organ and drums, but play some catchy, funky, jazzy instrumental music.
I'm still in love with my synthesizer, and I want to have it's children. Not sure on how Kellie will feel about that.
